My commencement in the role was perfectly aligned with the introduction of COVID and lockdowns, which has meant there has been very limited opportunity to connect face to face with the industry.

There have been many zoom meetings and telephone calls. I am very thankful to the people who have connected and worked with me over the last 22 months for the good of the industry. The work cannot be done alone, and it is crucial for success to have support. I would like to make a special mention to Trevor Weatherhead, who has been extremely supportive and very willing to share his wealth of knowledge of the industry.

There has been a lot of work happening behind the scenes at AHBIC and in the first six months of 2022, you will start to see some of the results of this work.

I wish Danny all the best as the acting CEO of AHBIC and I hope you support him in undertaking this role so that the industry benefits.
